About The Position

Tessera Labs is redefining how enterprises modernize their most complex systems. Backed by Foundation Capital and built by leaders in AI and enterprise transformation, Tessera delivers governed, multi-agent AI built specifically for ERP modernization. Tessera compresses ERP modernization from years to weeks. Our platform accelerates data harmonization, remediates and optimizes legacy code, orchestrates workflows across ERP, CRM, Finance, and adjacent enterprise stacks, and safeguards mission-critical operations with audit-ready governance. Our mission is to modernize global enterprises safely, automatically, and at unprecedented speed. We move fast, own outcomes end-to-end, and operate at the frontier of applied AI for enterprise-scale transformation. Role Summary The Technical Program Manager owns the end-to-end execution of complex, multi-workstream enterprise modernization programs delivered on Tessera’s multi-agent AI platform. This role is senior to a Technical Project Manager and is accountable not only for delivery execution, but for program design, technical strategy alignment, risk orchestration, and cross-customer scalability. The Technical Program Manager operates as the technical execution leader across multiple delivery pods, customer workstreams, and internal engineering functions. You are expected to reason deeply about enterprise architectures, data landscapes, AI-driven automation, and system constraints—while translating that complexity into clear execution plans and executive-level outcomes. You will partner closely with customer executives, enterprise architects, and transformation leaders, while also serving as a trusted peer to Tessera’s AI, data, and platform engineering teams. You will shape delivery models, influence product feedback loops, and ensure Tessera’s modernization programs scale predictably across customers and industries. The ideal candidate has led large-scale enterprise transformation or ML-driven programs, thrives in ambiguity, and is comfortable owning delivery outcomes at both the technical and executive level.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of experience leading technical programs, enterprise transformations, or complex system deliveries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional technical programs with executive visibility.
  • Strong technical literacy across architecture, data, integrations, and AI-enabled systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of ERP and enterprise platforms (SAP ECC/S/4HANA, Salesforce, Workday, Snowflake, Oracle, MuleSoft, etc.).
  • Experience with master data harmonization, legacy code remediation, process orchestration, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Experience delivering ML-driven or AI-enabled enterprise programs.
  • Working understanding of LLMs, multi-agent systems, AI orchestration, and automation frameworks.
  • Ability to reason about AI constraints, governance, and operational risk in enterprise environments.
  • Expert-level command of Agile delivery, cross-functional orchestration, and large-scale dependency management.
  • Strong ability to design and run complex technical programs with multiple stakeholders and moving parts.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Comfortable engaging deeply with engineers on architecture, data flows, APIs, error handling, and system constraints.
  • Operate with extreme ownership and accountability for outcomes.
  • Balance deep technical reasoning with executive-level clarity.
  • Thrive in ambiguity and create structure where none exists.
  • Influence without authority across customers and internal teams.
  • Simplify complexity and drive alignment at scale.
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate planning, execution, and communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Led large-scale ERP transformations (SAP strongly preferred).
  • Experience delivering ML or AI-driven enterprise solutions.
  • Background in system integrators, enterprise SaaS, or high-growth startups.
  • PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or equivalent certifications.
  • Experience working directly with LLM-based or agent-oriented systems.

Responsibilities

  • Program Ownership & Strategic Delivery Leadership: Own the end-to-end technical delivery of complex, multi-phase AI modernization programs across ERP, CRM, data platforms, and connected enterprise systems.
  • Lead and coordinate multiple delivery pods (Forward-Deployed Engineers, Data Engineers, System Engineers, Solution Architects).
  • Define program structure, milestones, dependencies, success metrics, and execution guardrails across parallel workstreams.
  • Act as the single point of accountability for program health, delivery predictability, and customer outcomes.
  • Technical Architecture & Cross-System Alignment: Engage deeply in enterprise architecture discussions spanning data models, integrations, governance, and automation workflows.
  • Partner with customer enterprise architects and IT leadership to align Tessera’s AI-driven approach with existing system landscapes.
  • Guide technical decision-making, trade-offs, sequencing, and dependency resolution across systems such as SAP, Salesforce, Workday, Snowflake, and adjacent platforms.
  • Ensure architectural consistency and technical feasibility across program phases.
  • Execution Excellence, Risk & Dependency Management: Drive disciplined Agile execution across multiple teams and workstreams.
  • Proactively identify technical, operational, and organizational risks; design mitigation and contingency strategies.
  • Manage cross-team dependencies, sequencing, and resource constraints at program scale.
  • Establish and track KPIs for velocity, quality, adoption, and operational readiness.
  • Enterprise Governance, Security & Readiness: Ensure all programs meet enterprise-grade standards for security, compliance, auditability, and change governance.
  • Oversee readiness for production deployments across mission-critical systems.
  • Partner with customer risk, compliance, and audit stakeholders to ensure trust and transparency.
  • Executive & Customer Leadership: Serve as a senior technical leader and trusted advisor to customer executives and transformation sponsors.
  • Lead executive reviews, roadmap discussions, and program steering forums.
  • Own escalations across customers and internal teams, driving fast, structured resolution.
  • Translate technical progress and risk into clear executive-level narratives.
  • Delivery Model Evolution & Scale: Continuously evolve Tessera’s delivery playbooks and execution frameworks to improve repeatability and scale.
  • Influence product, platform, and AI roadmap through delivery-driven insights.
  • Mentor Technical Project Managers and junior TPMs, raising execution standards across programs.
  • Startup Mindset & Extreme Ownership: Operate comfortably in high-ambiguity, high-velocity environments.
  • Bring clarity, structure, and momentum to complex, evolving programs.
  • Travel to customer sites for discovery, architecture workshops, and executive program oversight.
