As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. Google Data Centers (GDC) makes up one of the largest and most powerful computing infrastructures on the planet. The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) program enables compliance and safety excellence in design, construction, commissioning, deployment and operations of Google owned and third-party data centers at scale. As a member of the GDC Compliance, Strategy, and Risk Management (CSRM) Environmental team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the environmental and energy management systems across the GDC teams in the Americas region in compliance with the regulatory requirements. You will play a critical part in working collaboratively with a cross functional team across Google Cloud to identify programmatic gaps, develop and execute environmental campaigns, programs and procedures to protect Google’s interests. You will also provide program leadership and oversight to new and critical environmental initiatives to continue to create and iterate our EHS program.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$198,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Geology, Biology, Meteorology, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management.
  • 2 years of experience in program management and implementing environmental or energy management systems in the tech sector.
  • Experience in the implementation of environmental or energy management systems within an organization, including experience with US environmental regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • ISO 14001 or ISO 50001 certification or relevant work experience.
  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in operations with respect to environmental and energy management.
  • Experience in US environmental/energy regulations, environmental incident management, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, implement, promote and maintain a conforming environmental and energy management system (EEMS) aligned to relevant ISO standards, including procedures and associated knowledge database encompassing all GDC operating models and considering full data center lifecycle.
  • Manage conformance, certification and associated continual improvements against the global and regional Environmental Management Systems and the relevant standards i.e. ISO 14001; ISO 50001, energy star by engaging with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify and evaluate data center environmental and energy risks for impact to the business from cradle to grave and design/lead programs to mitigate those risks.
  • Investigate and analyze environmental incident reports and recommend global measures/programs to prevent recurrence. Develop appropriate communications and training/awareness for employees and contractors whose work has an impact on the EEMS at the data centers.
