About The Position

Responsible for assisting with the upkeep and management of the theatre facility, as well as the organization, supervision and stage managing of theatre events. Schedules and performs administrative tasks associated with incoming events, maintains and operates all theatre equipment, and provides for the security and safety of the people in the facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with additional training related to the position
  • One-year related experience, and experience as lead worker or indirect supervisor
  • Knowledge of: Lighting console and ethernet control gateways
  • Knowledge of: Digital audio equipment and sound consoles and how to operate them
  • Skilled in: Troubleshooting and minor repair of theatre lighting and audio
  • Skilled in: Basic electronics and soldering
  • Skilled in: Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management
  • Skilled in: Delivering a high level of customer service
  • Ability to: Work on a lift and catwalks at heights up to 30 feet
  • Ability to: Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service
  • Regular physical attendance required

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical assistance to department or campus.
  • Performs technical set-up for video, audio and multi-image presentations.
  • Sets up and breaks down audio equipment.
  • Operates audio equipment including digital sound consoles.
  • Determines malfunctions and repairs and operates existing electrical appliance and equipment.
  • Operates stage lighting equipment for events and productions in auditorium; rig lighting equipment by use of ladder, as required.
  • Performs preventive and regular scheduled maintenance and repairs on equipment and machinery consistent with equipment recommendations.
  • Maintains facility in good working condition, monitor and inspect facilities.
  • Maintains electrical systems including air conditioning, light fixtures, and other electrical components.
  • Replaces defective or obsolete theatrical equipment and fixtures.
  • Provides custodial duties such as but not limited to cleaning, dusting and mopping floors of theatre stage area.
  • Maintains and performs in a safe workplace.
  • Follows established safety practices.
  • Provides for the security and safety of students, faculty, and staff.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
