About The Position

Data is crucial to the day-to-day operations and decision-making at Comcast, and the Technical Product Owner for the Data and AI team will play a key role in delivering Comcast goals. This Technical Product Owner will primarily be working with the Product team to analyze and define the data product for Comcast. In this role, this individual will work cross-functionally to develop data products, reports, and help partner with a diverse array of internal data customers to deliver best in class Data products. Among other duties, this individual will help with defining and executing data strategies to meet the business use cases, Additionally, work in a technology-rich and data-rich environment to solve day-to-day data problems at Comcast. To be considered for this role, you must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for employment now or in the future : Product Definition & Roadmaps: Take a business case, identify the +1 opportunity, and work with Technical and Business teams to turn it into clear product features and data product requirements and roadmaps (use cases, MVP, epics, user stories, success metrics). Make sure MVPs and roadmap items follow core data management, governance, and security standards and are scoped correctly for the underlying data and technical platform. Customer-Centric: Learn how customers and stakeholders use the product, capture their needs and pain points, and help translate those insights into clear feature ideas and user stories. Data: Use data and basic metrics to understand how features are performing and share these findings with the team to refine priorities and designs for developing data products Technology: Have a basic understanding of data pipelines, ETL, streaming, storage, compute, and data warehousing (e.g., on AWS) and how they support data products, working with engineering to explore solution options. Communication: Create clear, simple product documentation, release notes, and slides that explain what a feature does and why it matters, for both technical and non technical audiences. Implementation: Help break down requirements into user stories, participate in backlog grooming and design reviews, and validate that delivered features meet agreed business and technical criteria. Collaboration & Support: Serve as a day to day contact for assigned data products by answering basic questions, logging issues, and collecting feedback from internal users, then feeding those insights into the product backlog and discussions with engineers and other product teammates. Analyzes product management activities for several products, or one key product. Serves as a resource to other product managers, assisting them in the resolution of semi-complex problems or may lead them on larger projects. Accountable for profit and loss or budgetary management of assigned products. Gathers input to define product concepts. Justifies expenditures for products. Defines and analyzes markets. Evaluates technologies. Develops detailed product features and requirements and develops implementation plans. Participates in cross-functional teams to envision new product features. Coordinates with outside vendors and strategic partners to ensure that product initiatives are well-defined and delivered on time and within budget. Reviews pricing strategies to insure company profitability and competition in the marketplace. Performs periodic margin analysis. Makes product improvement recommendations to meet changing operational, sales and market needs. Coordinates among a wide range of cross-functional internal and external resources to ensure that products get to market per specifications, within budget and on schedule. Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
  • 4+ years of working in Data Technologies.
  • Excellent team-work and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative background
  • Responsive, able to adapt to fast-moving projects
  • Quick learner, comfortable with nascent technologies and emerging strategies
  • Fluent in MS Office including Word, Excel and strong PowerPoint/Keynote experience
  • Programming skills and scripting experience combined with understanding of: Data pipelines and workflow orchestration, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes; Data warehousing (design, architecture, and optimization); Storage and compute systems; Cloud platforms, especially AWS (including S3, EC2, Lambda, and security); Streaming technologies (such as Kafka or Kinesis)
