The Technical Patient Care Coordinator (TPCC) ensures exceptional patient experience while supporting the clinical team in delivering neurodiagnostic, VR-based rehabilitation, vestibular testing, and musculoskeletal (MSK) rehabilitation services. This hybrid role integrates traditional patient care coordination responsibilities with hands-on technical and clinical support that aligns with Parker Performance Institute’s neuro-centered and performance-focused model.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in healthcare, patient services, rehabilitation, or sports performance preferred
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Comfort with technology, clinical devices, and software
  • Ability to learn and operate VNG, Virtualis, Bertec force plates, RightEye oculomotor systems, Interactive Metronome, and VR rehab systems
  • Professional communication and patient rapport
  • Multitasking and clinical flow management
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to learn and apply neuro/MSK rehab protocols
  • HIPAA and OSHA compliance
  • Calm, patient-centered problem solving
  • Visual acuity to use a keyboard and view a computer terminal. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.
  • May require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand and walk.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry and/or move light to medium weight up to twenty (20) exerting up to twenty (20) pounds of force.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and room patients in a professional, welcoming manner
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out
  • Verify patient demographic, scheduling, and billing information
  • Maintain clinical schedules and support efficient clinician workflow
  • Answer and direct multi-line phone calls and messages
  • Assist with scheduling extended visits, diagnostics, re-exams, and Reports of Findings
  • Support patient inquiries and ensure excellent in-clinic experience
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
  • Assist providers with setup and administration of: Video Nystagmography (VNG) RightEye oculomotor testing Bertec force plate balance and gait assessments Virtualis VR vestibular/balance testing Interactive Metronome timing assessments Creyos cognitive performance test setup Basic reaction time and sensorimotor testing
  • Assist clinicians in delivering: Oculomotor and gaze stabilization exercises Vestibular habituation and balance protocols VR-based rehabilitation Timing and rhythm training Mobility and activation exercises Balance and coordination drills Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) setup (provider-supervised)
  • Prepare and reset diagnostic rooms, VR rooms, and rehab spaces
  • Assist with transitions during “Brain” and “Body” sessions
  • Support executive programs, Invicta programs, and intensive diagnostic days
  • Enter session data, objective findings, and progress notes into the EHR under provider direction
  • Maintain and monitor clinical inventory (neuro supplies, straps, VR equipment, sensors)
  • Assist with supplement or device shipping as needed
  • Support accurate charge capture and reconciliation
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness, calibration readiness, and daily operational checks
  • Ensure all rooms and equipment are patient-ready at the start of each day
  • Follow cleaning and infection control protocols
  • Identify and report operational issues promptly to the Clinic Director
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and clinical workflow development
