SS&C Advent, a leading provider of award-winning software and services for the global investment management industry, is seeking a Network Consultant for the Application Hosting & Infrastructure team. Join a talented and hard-working team focused on consulting with clients and IT teams for best running our industry leading technologies. The Application Hosting & Infrastructure team partners with SS&C IT teams and our clients as consultants for running our software solutions. This includes work for server infrastructure, security, disaster recovery, software configuration, and performance optimization. As a network consultant you would primarily focus on networking related practices in these areas. This would include working with clients on configuring their setup to meet our requirements. As a consultant you will be expected to work with both technical engineers and non-technical teams to be able to speak to both groups about requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer networking, information science, or similar degree
  • At least five years’ experience in network engineering or network consulting
  • Experience across different firewall providers (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet etc.)
  • Proficient in network security best practices
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical groups
  • Collaborative approach to working with others

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with Clients and key vendors to build and maintain network integrations. This includes dedicated connectivity (circuits), site-to-site connectivity (VPNs), and public internet-based connections.
  • Collaborating with internal networking teams on building, maintaining, and supporting Client and key vendor network connectivity requirements. Including optimizing processes, documentation, and trainings.
  • Staying informed of the latest best practices for network security and protocols.
  • Develop documentation for internal teams for both global level and client specific networking processes and configurations.
