Our coverage radius includes the Black Hills area of South Dakota and parts of eastern Wyoming. We are in Rapid City, SD, television DMA Market 169, and are proud to serve our community of approximately 100,000 television HH. Job Summary/Description: The Technical Media Producer’s responsibilities include but are not limited to: directing live and pre-recorded productions as assigned, monitoring the station’s on-air signals, transmitter, and FCC logs, and ingesting daily programming and commercials into our playout server. Other assignments will include directing specific newscasts, operating master control automation equipment, and various in-studio productions. On-site training is available!

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Must be punctual and have reliable transportation, including during inclement weather.
  • The desire to learn television broadcast automation equipment (experience is a plus!).
  • Experience with computers and Microsoft Windows, with the willingness to learn new and complex technologies.
  • The ability to take direction, meet multiple deadlines, make split-second decisions, multitask, and work under pressure.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Operation of Ross Overdrive Production Automation, Crispin Master Control Automation, and VizRT News Graphics System.
  • The operation of robotic cameras, a teleprompter, and an audio mixer.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with all members of the team.
  • Adapt to breaking news and developing stories.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean studio and production area.
  • You may have a variable work schedule, depending on station needs.
  • Performance of other duties as assigned.
