About The Position

As part of the talented Manufacturing team, you will be responsible for daily coordination of production activities. You will assign work to operators and ensure safety, quality, delivery and productivity objectives are met as well as provide technical training, guidance with skilled trades. Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in metal fabrication, machining, CNC machines.
  • Proven track record of success in schedule management (set up process), and machine/process knowledge.
  • Extremely proficient in CNC Lathe and CNC mill setup
  • High level of competency in MIG and TIG welding.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc Robotics
  • Broad background in metal and polymer processing.
  • Extensive print reading and interpretation
  • High skill level in reading and using a wide variety of measuring tools.
  • Experience and comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience with Copics or other MRP systems
  • 1-3 Years of experience in frontline leadership

Responsibilities

  • Partner with department supervisors to meet/exceed metrics for the department. (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost)
  • Delegate and guide employees while emulating our corporate values.
  • Work with planners, engineers, managers to ensure processing of materials in a safe, efficient and timely manner to meet customer expectations.
  • Maintain health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment by directing and promoting and exemplifying safety and security awareness.
  • Maintain and display a high level of quality within the department, partnering with Quality engineers and Quality techs to eliminate defects.
  • Bring forward suggestions for safety, quality and productivity improvements.
  • Actively seek positive changes in departments.
  • Effective communication skills are an expectation and a requirement.
  • Lead the team in all activities as needed, such as stretches, GEMBA, trainings, Kaizen events etc.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and resolution of opportunities that are presented while following all required processes
  • Seek out knowledge to make improvements and work to make changes less disruptive in the department.
  • Ensure onboarding is being completed for all new employees and contract employees.
  • Manage production timecards to ensure any opportunities within the departments are immediately identified for correction.
  • Must be accepting and willing to work as a contributing member in our “one team” mentality for all of NAVICO.
  • Ability and willingness to fill in for direct supervisor in their absence.
