About the Role Lead and Develop the Engineering Team: Manage and develop the plant engineering staff, providing direction, mentorship, and technical leadership. Oversee engineering performance, ensuring alignment with plant and corporate objectives. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence within the team. Manage Capital Planning and Budgeting: Develop and execute the five-year capital plan and budget. Review and approve project submittals, ensuring compliance with gate review processes and financial objectives. Prepare reports and forecast monthly capital cashflows to optimize budget management. Productivity Agenda and Process Optimization: Lead the productivity agenda, developing ideas and projects to create a pipeline of improvement initiatives. Oversee the development of validation models to track and report project savings against the plan. Identify and drive process optimization initiatives, ensuring improved efficiency, sustainability, and cost reduction. Priority Setting and Performance Management: Oversee priority setting and completion of action items to achieve KPIs on plant level boards. Lead the implementation of the Green Road, including Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA). Monitor and evaluate engineering team performance, ensuring alignment with operational goals. Oversee Training and Benchmarking: Develop individual and team training materials to enhance the technical capabilities of the team. Track and report monthly usage data for ingredients and energy, contributing to monthly and annual reviews. Support Plant Operations and Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align engineering priorities with operations management, ensuring technical resources support plant needs. Partner with maintenance, operations, safety, and environmental teams to support plant-wide technical initiatives. Provide network-wide engineering support, ensuring consistency in technical approaches and solutions.

  • 10+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (required)
  • Management of medium to large projects (>$5M) (required)
  • Experience with plant operations and risk management (safety, quality, cost, etc.) (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in PE and PMP (preferred)
  • Experience in corn wet milling or food manufacturing (preferred)
