About The Position

The Technical Leader for Hot Gas Path (HGP) Value Engineering team is a newly created leadership position designed to elevate technical execution from individual project delivery to a best-in-class cost muscle for GE Vernova. This role is responsible for defining the technical standard for the team, establishing Lean standard work, and acting as the primary strategic owner for Rare Earth Element (REE) utilization across the HGP portfolio. The Technical Leader will ensure that value engineering is a core component of early-stage design and long-term business strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Materials, Mechanical, or Aerospace preferred) from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Engineering, with a significant focus on Hot Gas Path (HGP) components.
  • Proven track record of leading complex technical projects and influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated technical experience working with rare earth elements (Yttrium, Hafnium, etc.) and understanding their global, political and supply chain challenges.
  • Deep understanding of Lean principles and their application in a highly technical engineering environment.
  • Ability to connect technical execution to high-level business outcomes and multi-year roadmaps.
  • Experience leading culture change and building team confidence during organizational transitions.
  • Exceptional ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights for executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the HGP strategy for critical rare earth elements (e.g., Yttrium, Hafnium, Tantalum).
  • Own the technical roadmap for these materials, balancing performance requirements with supply chain resilience and cost volatility.
  • Extend REE strategies beyond HGP by partnering with Sourcing, Supply Chain, and other GE Vernova business units to ensure a unified approach to material risk and value.
  • Position Value Engineering as a critical contributor in early architecture and design conversations, influencing product outcomes before costs are locked in
  • Establish and enforce standard work and Lean principles to improve execution quality, speed, and predictability across the HGP Pod.
  • Define, track, and drive technical KPIs that measure the impact of VE initiatives on the business’s bottom line.
  • Directly mentor and coach VE members through project reviews, fostering a culture of technical ownership and accountability.
  • Act as a communication bridge between deep technical execution teams and non-technical stakeholders, framing complex problems with clarity and rigor.
  • Create strong operational links between VE Pods, Should Cost teams, and external GE Vernova organizations to amplify value delivery.
  • Turn traditional cross-functional relationships into structurally embedded, value-driven partnerships.
