About The Position

This position provides technical leadership for the Hot Gas Path New Repair Introduction (NRI) team, focusing on rotating hardware. The role reports to the AMRT (Advanced Manufacturing and Repair Technology) NRI HGP Leader and is responsible for repair NPI, PCO, and MYA programs. The Technical Leader will collaborate closely with AMRT development teams in Greenville, Warsaw, and Singapore to deploy new technologies for repairs and upgrade modifications for heavy-duty gas turbine components across the GE Vernova Gas Turbine Fleet. This role also involves working with RVS Leadership, Gas Turbine Engineering, Product Line, and Customer Service Engineering to address fleet issues. The position requires providing appropriate communication to GE Gas Power management on program progress, challenges, and accomplishments, and maintaining a culture of safety, integrity, compliance, and engineering discipline. The leader is expected to understand, model, and integrate the AMRT culture into the broader GE Vernova culture, assist in developing an inspirational leadership organization, and coach team members. They will lead the search for high-impact engineering projects, participate in key initiatives beyond their components (including network, organizational, and business practice strategies), and mentor their team in design, analysis, or evaluation of projects using sound engineering principles. Collaboration with design engineering for design reviews and ensuring technical data documentation consistency with engineering policies are also key. The role acts as a technical or domain resource, providing training to interfacing groups, and emphasizes personal and team learning to solve business problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or related engineering field of study from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience
  • Strong mechanical design and analytical background with familiarity in manufacturing processes
  • Travel to repair centers, customer sites, and other locations as needed globally (~10%)
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology
  • Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government (if applicable, final offers will be contingent on this)

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Experience working in, with, and/or supporting a manufacturing, Services, repair, or design environment
  • Experience in Gas Turbine HGP manufacture, design, or repair
  • Lean training or equivalent quality training
  • Ability and established track record to drive projects to completion
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical responsibility for GE Vernova heavy-duty gas turbine hot gas path repair NPI, PCO, and MYA program developments and qualifications
  • Drive standard work across global team through lean practices utilizing lean roadmaps, value stream mapping, system development while supporting process improvement and continuous problem solving
  • Work with Product Line and Customer Service Engineering teams to address fleet issues
  • Provide the appropriate level of communication with GE Gas Power management on program progress, challenges, and accomplishments
  • Maintain a culture of safety, integrity, compliance, and engineering discipline
  • Understand, model and communicate the AMRT culture and seek ways to integrate it into the broader GE Vernova culture
  • Assist in developing an inspirational leadership organization that coaches team members in building trusting relationships
  • Lead and inspire the search for high impact engineering projects for your team
  • Participate in key initiatives that go beyond your components to include network strategies, organizational strategies, business practice strategies and others
