About The Position

PsiQuantum's mission is to build the first useful quantum computers capable of delivering breakthroughs in various foundational industries like energy, pharmaceuticals, finance, agriculture, transportation, and materials. Founded in 2016, the company focuses on building and deploying million-qubit, fault-tolerant quantum systems. Their architecture is based on silicon photonics, leveraging advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes. Photonics offers advantages such as immunity to heat and electromagnetic interference, and integration with existing cryogenic cooling and fiber-optic infrastructure. In 2024, PsiQuantum announced government-funded projects to build utility-scale quantum computers in Brisbane, Australia, and Chicago, Illinois. The company also develops algorithms and software, collaborating with Fortune 500 companies to prepare quantum solutions for real-world impact. Quantum computing is seen as a fundamental shift to solve challenges not addressable by classical computing. The technical lead for single photon source validation will be responsible for successfully driving validation projects, including planning, designing experiments, and characterizing electro-optical assemblies based on single photon source generation optical circuits and superconductive single photon detectors.
