About The Position

The Google Platforms Infrastructure Engineering team is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of Google’s compute and storage machines to satisfy Google Data Center internal use and external Cloud customers. Our team designs and builds the hardware, software, and networking technologies that power all of Google's services. As a Hardware Engineer, you will design and build the systems that are the heart of the world's largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You will see those systems from concepts all the way through to high-volume manufacturing. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience working in a data center systems architecture, design, hardware bring-up and validation technical environment.
  • 5 years of experience in technical leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience using data analytics to inform strategies for qualification and design validation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead system and subsystem hardware validation for data center products.
  • Develop strategy and roadmap for test infrastructure and processes to meet future technology and portfolio requirements.
  • Gather requirements, define high level architecture and execution strategy for product hardware validation.
  • Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, product, and deployment teams to support deployment and field support in Google data centers.
  • Work closely with external technology and system partners and represent Google’s technical requirements with these partners; also partner extensively with software development and validation teams on qualification, verification strategy and planning.
