About The Position

We are seeking a Technical Lead to guide end‑to‑end architecture and design for next‑generation, cloud‑enabled medical device software. In this role, you will work closely with client stakeholders to define technology choices, establish design patterns, and ensure technical feasibility. You will drive the creation of robust, scalable, secure, and cost‑effective solutions while guiding engineering teams across design, development, DevOps, testing, quality, and regulatory documentation—including DHF artifacts aligned with client guidelines and FDA submission expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 14+ years of software engineering with 5+ years in architecture/design roles.
  • Proven experience architecting cloud-native applications (AWS), including storage, compute, networking, and security controls.
  • Strong command of UML and formal design documentation (HLD/LLD, DHF), ideally within regulated environments (e.g., FDA submissions).
  • Hands-on with microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, containers, and orchestration.
  • Solid expertise in DevOps/CI-CD, test automation strategies, and code quality practices.
  • Proficiency in cybersecurity-by-design principles and risk mitigation within software architecture.
  • Experience leading Agile teams, delivering on-time and within budget in multi-stakeholder environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in medical device software or healthcare products; familiarity with QMS, design controls, and regulatory expectations (e.g., DHF readiness).
  • Knowledge of privacy/security frameworks and controls relevant to healthcare (e.g., threat modeling, secure SDLC).
  • Experience with performance, reliability, and scalability engineering (observability, SLOs, capacity planning).
  • Experience with complex algorithm implementation and optimization.
  • Experience in working with distributed teams and onsite offshore model.

Responsibilities

  • Define system architecture, cloud services, and design patterns for complex, regulated medical software solutions.
  • Ensure designs meet requirements for scalability, security, performance, sustainability, and reliability.
  • Produce and review UML models, HLD/LLD documentation, and DHF artifacts aligned with client and regulatory standards.
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams implementing cloud-native back-end systems.
  • Ensure delivery quality through code reviews, standards enforcement, and Agile execution.
  • Shape CI/CD strategy, automation, branching, and environment management.
  • Define and review test strategies across unit, integration, E2E, and performance layers.
  • Architect systems aligned with secure‑by‑design principles, ensuring resilience, observability, and vulnerability mitigation.
  • Support global production environments with timely troubleshooting and stakeholder communication.

Benefits

  • Paid time off based on employee grade (A-F), defined by policy: Vacation: 12-25 days, depending on grade, Company paid holidays, Personal Days, Sick Leave
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage (or provincial healthcare coordination in Canada)
  • Retirement savings plans (e.g., 401(k) in the U.S., RRSP in Canada)
  • Life and disability insurance
  • Employee assistance programs
  • Other benefits as provided by local policy and eligibility
