About The Position

Leidos is seeking a summer intern with a Computer Science background to join our team in support of the SMIT contract, the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under the Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT), Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, the Leidos team will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network. The successful candidate will support the administration of tools and lab solutions and analysis for the NMCI network. Primary Responsibilities Support expansion of the Lab environments to incorporate Microsoft Azure pilot effort Administer/Configure/Develop within tools such as Ansible Tower/ Satellite, MS SQL Server, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), Oracle for lab improvements efforts Contribute to the Lab team’s projects through desired automation by leveraging coding etc. via Red Hat Ansible, Microsoft PowerShell, HP Operations Orchestrator and/or other applicable technologies Produce as needed reporting and metrics to showcase alignment with Production Assist Lab Lead Engineers by participating in the planning of upgrades, replacement, configuration, and maintenance of servers/databases/tools Collaborate with external customers, management, subcontractors, vendors, and other engineering disciplines Comply with ITSM processes and procedures Comply with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) governance and use MBSE tools Comply with Cybersecurity requirements within the DoDI 8500.01 and DON 5239 Support the development and maintenance of processes, checklists, and procedures Assist automation initiatives by partnering with the Automation team to identify, prioritize and implement opportunities that improve efficiency, productivity and process optimization. Support cybersecurity and compliance efforts by coordinating with ISSM, ISSO and Cyber teams to maintain a secure environment, manage vulnerabilities and sustain ATO. Basic Qualifications Enrolled in a degree program as a Computer Science (or similar) major GPA 3.0 or better Experience with coding/programming Ability to obtain a security clearance US citizenship required Ability to obtain Security+ (or other relevant) certification to meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements Preferred Qualifications Experience automating using Red Hat Ansible and/or Microsoft PowerShell Experience with operating systems, e.g., Windows Server (W2K8/12/16/19), Red Hat Enterprise Linux (6.x/7.x/8.x) Experience with databases, e.g., Oracle 21C, Microsoft SQL Experience with Automation Experience with Cyber Security Come break things (in a good way). Requirements

  • Enrolled in a degree program as a Computer Science (or similar) major
