About The Position

ASRC Federal Systems Solutions (AFSS) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Intern to join our team for an internship opportunity. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, fast-paced technology environment. As a Technical Intern, you will work closely with experienced technicians and cross-functional teams on real-world projects that contribute directly to our products and services. This is a valuable opportunity to enhance your skills, expand your professional network, and gain insight into the inner workings of a leading Defense Contracting company This position supports Operations and Maintenance (O&M) for the Modernization of Enterprise Terminals (MET) and the Milstar Satellite Communications terminals. The Terminal technicians provide 24/7 shift coverage to perform O&M of the SATCOM terminals and associated baseband equipment. The terminal technicians are also responsible for additional duties, facilities, power, and other tasks as needed by company/contract leadership. The Milsatcom Technician will: Provides Operation and Maintenance (O&M) for SATCOM terminals and related equipment. Performs equipment status monitoring and operation. Coordinates and responds to messages from interfacing organizations such as tech control, DISA, and network control centers. Troubleshoot links, trunks and circuits. Performs preventative maintenance on assigned equipment. Troubleshoots equipment problems and performs corrective maintenance. Supports equipment upgrades. Performs work center quality inspections. Performs work center additional duties and logistics activities to include forward supply point, bench stock inventory and ordering. Performs training and maintains training records. Supports other contract functional areas as required

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must work towards completion of SATCOM/communications/systems operations and/or maintenance course or gaining equivalent experience on site.
  • Must be able to work shift
  • Requires an active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor's degree technical career field
  • Must have a current DoD 8570 certification (Security+)
