About The Position

PSEG is looking for a Summer 2026 Technical Intern for Transmission Asset Strategy. This job involves working as a(n) intern in the Asset Strategy group within the Asset Management department. The intern will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to review and assist with assessment and modeling of the condition of Overhead Transmission assets, including foundations, towers, conductors, insulators, and hardware. Ther intern will also review and provide summaries of recent research literature and internal reports on component testing and assessment, reliability, and newly available products for Overhead Transmission. This position will be Hybrid Fixed Intern will be required to travel to several PSE&G locations throughout the state during the internship program.

Requirements

  • The successful incumbent(s) must be actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited institution in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering or similar Engineering discipline and graduating between December 2026 and May 2029.
  • Students graduating in May/June 2026 are not eligible unless they are enrolling in a post-graduate degree program in the fall term of 2026.
  • PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.
  • Incumbents must have completed sophomore level course work for consideration.
  • Because this position will require traveling to various PSEG locations, a valid driver's license and a safe driving record is required.
  • Department of Energy’s regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 3.0 GPA
  • Prior coursework in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI
  • Experience with data analytics

Responsibilities

  • Research/evaluation of innovative overhead transmission technologies.
  • Review of engineering drawings, inspection, and test reports.
  • Creation of reports, dashboards, presentations, and process documents.
  • Evaluation of component, circuit, or system deficiencies.
  • Review of reliability analyses and end-of-life models.
