About The Position

Eagle Metalcraft located in Syracuse, NY is seeking a detail-oriented and versatile individual to join our team as a Technical Estimator. We are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented, and ambitious individual to join our team as a Technical Estimator. This is not just a quoting role—it’s an entry point into a long-term career in manufacturing, operations, and leadership. You will work directly with our team to understand how jobs are built, priced, and executed. Over time, you’ll develop deep technical knowledge of our processes, materials, and customers, with opportunities to grow into more advanced roles. Responsibilities

  • Review RFQs (Requests for Quotes), technical drawings, and specifications to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates.
  • Calculate material, labor, tooling, and subcontracting costs for jobs in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and purchasing teams to validate job feasibility and pricing strategies.
  • Prepare formal quote documents and proposals for customers.
  • Track, update, and maintain historical quoting data and project cost records.
  • Monitor market trends in raw materials and labor to maintain up-to-date pricing strategies.
  • Greet and assist walk-in customers, vendors, and visitors; maintain a professional and welcoming front office environment.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to general inquiries or route them to the appropriate departments.
  • Handle mail distribution, filing, supply ordering, and basic clerical duties.
  • Support the sales and production teams with administrative tasks such as data entry, document prep, and scheduling.
  • Assist with maintaining customer and vendor databases, including contact details and quote/job status.
  • Help coordinate company meetings, facility tours, and customer visits.
