We are looking for an ambitious and self-driven Software Engineering Manager to join our team. As an Engineering Manager, you will drive the overall team vision, empower the team and ensure a culture of inclusive and diverse thinking. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experience.
  • Hands-on programming experience in one of the following: JavaScript, Java or Python

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
  • Project Management:
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Work with other departments to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Technical Oversight:
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of the software development process.
  • Provide technical expertise, guidance, and architectural oversight to the team.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
  • Recruitment and Team Building:
  • Participate in the recruitment and hiring process for new team members.
  • Build and maintain a high-performing and motivated engineering team.
  • Performance Management:
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations for team members.
  • Identify areas for improvement and provide constructive feedback.
  • Support professional development and training opportunities.
  • Communication:
  • Facilitate effective communication within the engineering team and with other departments.
  • Report project status, issues, and risks to upper management.
  • Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to define requirements and priorities.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration for successful project delivery.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Evaluate and implement new tools or methodologies to improve the development process.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure the team is aware of and addresses potential challenges in the development process.
  • Customer Focus:
  • Ensure that software products meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to drive continuous improvement.
