About The Position

The Technical Enablement Intern plays a key role in helping BlueLinx employees effectively use our IT systems, applications, and processes. This role supports the creation and organization of clear technical training materials, documentation, and user‑friendly learning resources. It’s an excellent opportunity for a student interested in IT training, instructional design, documentation, or learning technology to gain hands‑on experience in an enterprise environment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain technical concepts in user‑friendly language.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Interest in technical training, documentation, and learning technologies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Prior coursework or academic projects related to IT systems or training preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft certifications (any level)
  • Experience with creating instructional or training materials

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and organize technical documentation, job aids, and standard operating procedures for IT systems and processes.
  • Develop and maintain training materials—including written guides, videos, and eLearning content—to support the effective use of business applications and tools.
  • Partner with subject‑matter experts across IT and business functions to translate complex technical workflows into clear and accessible resources.
  • Support user adoption of business systems, reporting tools, and AI‑enabled technologies through structured learning content and guidance.
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining enablement materials within learning platforms and shared repositories.
  • Help coordinate technical training activities and provide general support for training sessions.
