About The Position

TECHNICAL EDITOR Position Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Technical Editor to join our team in providing critical Department of War (DoW) Information Technology (IT) support services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong command of the English language, proficiency in Microsoft Office products, and experience with desktop publishing. This individual will perform technical editing of documents, collaborate with IT professionals, and ensure that all deliverables are accurately presented to the government in a concise and professional manner.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and desktop publishing software.
  • Exceptional command of the English language, including excellent grammar, spelling, and syntax skills.
  • Proven experience in technical editing and document management within a professional setting.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and technical subject matter experts (SMEs).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 3-5 years of experience in technical editing, ideally within the IT, DoW, or government contracting space.

  • Candidate must meet Germany TESA requirements as follows: Germany: A Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of recent specialized experience; or Associates Degree and seven (7) years of recent specialized experience; or No degree and 11 years or recent specialized experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting Department of War (DoW) projects or other government contracts.
  • Familiarity with DoW-specific style guides and document formats.
  • Experience or understanding of Information Technology (IT) concepts and terminology.
  • Adobe Creative Suite or advanced formatting tool experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review, edit, and format technical documentation, reports, and presentations to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology professionals and the Government customer to gather, organize, and refine technical information.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail, ensuring correct grammar, spelling, syntax, and adherence to established style guides.
  • Provide editing support for a variety of routine deliverables, including but not limited to: Monthly Status Reports Presentations to government stakeholders Technical documentation related to IT services.
  • Apply desktop publishing tools and software as needed for documentation design and formatting.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of templates, style guides, and editorial standards for project teams.
  • Assist in ensuring all submissions meet specified requirements, guidelines, and deadlines.
