Your Role As a Gensler Technical Designer, you will collaborate with talented designers who help shape the future of the built environment. You will contribute to all phases of design, including concept development, construction documentation, and construction administration. We are looking for team members who pair creativity with strong technical expertise and who are committed to guiding clients as they evolve and grow their brands. Our Atlanta office has a thriving Retail and Consumer Experience practice and is looking to expand our team. As a Technical Designer within this group, you will help deliver world‑class retail environments by integrating design excellence, technical rigor, and strategic thinking. You will work with a multidisciplinary team from concept through completion to deliver quality project work as a steward of Gensler’s commitment to quality, innovation, and impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • 3–5 years of experience in an architectural design firm
  • Proficiency in Revit (required)
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, 3dMax, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and MS Office
  • Collaborative, team‑oriented mindset.
  • Self‑motivated, responsible, and highly driven.
  • Demonstrated commitment to resilience and sustainable design practices.

  • This role is fully in‑office; remote or hybrid arrangements are not available.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical design assignments, including programming client needs, developing conceptual diagrams and models, producing technical studies, and generating construction documentation.
  • Support communication among project teams, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and permitting officials.
  • Provide design and documentation support throughout project execution.
  • Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives
  • Support coordination with local jurisdictions for permit submissions, plan review responses, and approvals.
