About The Position

The Technical Assistant II provides essential patient care services, including cleaning, maintaining, and stocking supplies and equipment, while strictly adhering to standard precautions and infection control protocols. This role requires demonstrating the necessary knowledge and skills for the assigned patient population, receiving assignments delegated by an RN, accessing and reporting patient status data to identify needs, and performing duties such as clerical tasks, phlebotomy, and safety attendant responsibilities in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Current CNA, Phlebotomy, or CMA/CCMA/RMA certification with state required.
  • Basic computer knowledge with demonstrated administrative skills.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • High level of compassion, desire to help others and highly motivated.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care services and assistance under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse or physician.
  • Clean, maintain, and stock supplies and equipment.
  • Apply principles of standard precautions and infection control.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the assigned patient population.
  • Receive and execute assignments delegated by the RN.
  • Access and report patient status data to identify patient needs.
  • Provide care based on established policies and procedures.
  • Perform clerical duties.
  • Perform phlebotomy.
  • Perform safety attendant duties.
  • Assist in room turnaround, including appropriate cleaning of equipment, supplies, and environment.
  • Organize supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Comply with Department, Hospital, and Regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Understand concepts of sterile and non-sterile techniques.
  • Adhere to safety measures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
