The Architecture Lead - Director for the Federal Civilian Sector, plays a pivotal role in both presales and implementation, shaping, scoping, and solutioning engagements to set customers up for success. This leader provides technical oversight and execution leadership on large-scale and mission-critical engagements while also serving as a trusted mentor to Salesforce teams and federal clients. They're responsible for driving architectural excellence, strategic customer alignment, and fostering a high-performance culture within their teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of direct experience delivering and overseeing solutions development on the Salesforce Platform.
  • 10+ years’ experience in consulting services, including team leadership, pre-sales solutioning, and delivery management.
  • 2+ years of experience in scoping and sizing Salesforce projects.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce solutions and their application within the Federal/Public Sector.
  • Experience in driving technical alignment with federal IT departments and system integrators.
  • Strong executive presence, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, facilitating strategic discussions around enterprise architecture, roadmaps, and technical trade-offs.
  • Deep problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly assess challenges, craft solutions, and drive execution.
  • Experience in leading teams to deliver complex multi-cloud Salesforce solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • This candidate must be a U.S. citizen (U.S. born or naturalized) who does not hold dual citizenship and agrees to complete a U.S. federal government Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) for a Moderate Public Trust position.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years operating in a pre-sales environment, shaping and scoping large and complex implementation projects.
  • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or multiple Salesforce Architecture certifications.
  • 5+ years of enterprise-level project or program management experience.
  • Experience in public sector digital transformation initiatives.
  • Strong background in compliance and security standards relevant to federal agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive business development initiatives aligned to federal contracting strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Strategy & Architecture Leadership: Serve as the technical authority across a portfolio of federal customers, ensuring architectural integrity, platform scalability, and alignment with agency missions.
  • Provide technical oversight for all federal engagements, ensuring solution architectures adhere to industry and government compliance standards (e.g., FedRAMP, FISMA, etc.).
  • Oversee and provide governance on large, multi-cloud Salesforce implementations, ensuring alignment with federal enterprise architecture frameworks.
  • Lead technical deep dives, solutioning sessions, and executive briefings to drive successful outcomes for customers.
  • Step in as a hands-on leader to support at-risk projects, ensuring swift issue resolution and alignment with project objectives.
  • Presales & Strategic Engagements: Partner closely with Services Sales leadership to shape compelling, customer-centric proposals and Statements of Work (SOWs) for large-scale Salesforce implementations.
  • Lead technical solutioning across multiple Salesforce clouds, considering integration requirements, security, data migration, and third-party solutions.
  • Establish and maintain strong executive relationships with federal customers and partners, aligning Salesforce solutions with their digital transformation goals.
  • Serve as an advisor to Federal IT leadership, helping align their Salesforce implementation strategy with their broader IT modernization efforts.
  • Support bid and proposal activities, ensuring technical feasibility and scoping align with customer expectations and Salesforce best practices.
  • Operational Excellence & Customer Success: Drive high client satisfaction (CSAT) and engagement success, ensuring measurable business value realization for federal agencies.
  • Ensure projects are correctly scoped, balancing team structure, skillset, and timeframe to meet customer goals.
  • Continuously enhance delivery excellence, improving processes, governance models, and solutioning frameworks across engagements.
  • Actively track and mitigate project risks and escalations, ensuring transparent and timely communication with internal and external stakeholders.
