About The Position

Country Visions Cooperative is looking to hire a full-time Technical Agronomist / Applicator for our Valders, WI location. We have had continued success and our customer base is increasing, creating the need to hire for this position. Now is the perfect time to join our team! Country Visions Cooperative is a farmer owned agriculture based cooperative dedicated to service and building long-term relationships from generation to generation. We are proud to trace our roots back to 1923. The Technical Agronomist will be responsible for several duties that will change throughout the year with the seasons. The primary duties of this position is to assist customers and Agronomy staff with the technology platforms used at Country Visions, these include: Climate, EFC, Agsync, Slingshot, and other software and hardware platforms. This position would also include training customers and staff on different technology platforms. The position will also be responsible to collect data from growers and import the data into various platforms, as well as explain that data to the grower and Agronomist. The position will also include soil sampling duties. Putting in soil sample orders, dispatching and planning fields to get sampled, and coordinating with labs to pick up samples. The Technical Agronomist will also have to communicate to Agronomy staff that soil samples are getting done, and write VRT recommendations based on soil sample data. The Technical Agronomist will also be required to do custom application of fertilizer and chemical products to farm fields during the growing season, and help with the operations of fertilizer and chemical application during the growing season. The individual in this position will get trained on application equipment such as sprayers and spreaders as well as the latest technology: Viper, VSN, and Augmenta. The individual in this position may also be required to write NMPs while understanding the products being utilized and communicate the NMP to the agronomist and grower. The main goal of a Technical Agronomist is to help our customers increase yield as efficiently as possible. The Technical Agronomist position is for an individual who is interested in learning new technologies. Agricultural background is not required, an individual needs a positive attitude, ability to learn quickly, and work in fast paced ever changing environment.

Requirements

  • Must possess, or able to obtain a Wisconsin Commercial Pesticide Operators License.
  • Valid Class A CDL, or ability to obtain one with valid tanker endorsement.
  • Clean driving record is required.
  • Conscientious attitude and attention to detail are essential.
  • Ability to read maps and follow directions.
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds.
  • Daily hours Monday through Friday with some unpredictable and extended work hours including seasonally extended hours will occur.

Responsibilities

  • Competitive pay: a base of $21.00 up to $30.00+ per hour. Offer and wage step increases are dependent upon having/obtaining a valid WI Custom Applicator license, a valid Class A CDL, a CCA (Certified Crop Advisor) certification, and prior experience
