About The Position

The Sales Agronomist will work with farmers/producers to identify and secure agronomy business. The Sales Agronomist will proactively promote crop nutrients, crop protection products, seed, and agricultural custom application services to cooperative customers. This key member of the team will focus on helping achieve the cooperative mission, goals, and market share, while increasing gross sales, local net margin, and providing outstanding customer service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate's degree (A. A.) and 1-5 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • English Proficiency
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respirator.
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting sales calls to promote and coordinate the profitable sale of crop nutrients, seed, crop protection, precision ag, and services as well as other products offered to satisfy customer needs.
  • Building relationships and establishing trust with new and current customers to understand their needs and developing a business plan by customer that demonstrates the best crop production practices to maximize yield.
  • Developing a strong working relationship with location manager and Agtegra Cooperative agronomy team to maximize customer service and teamwork as well as with local supplier representatives to help support their products as prioritized by the Agtegra Cooperative Agronomy Leadership Team.
  • Examining results of crop production studies to discover and enhance characteristics such as yield, quality, adaptation to specific soils or climates, and resistance to diseases and pests.
  • Adheres to all safety regulations, requirements, policies and procedures, including OSHA regulations, the vehicle policy and fleet safety program and DOT regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
