This individual is also expected to be proficient in agronomy and in PCA (Pest Control Advisor) work. They must be able to read and write recommendations for pesticides and create prescriptions for fertilizer and management of dead-end situations. The Sales Agronomist II is responsible for developing budgets based on crop needs, using data collected and analyzed. Role Overview: The Sales Agronomist II is responsible for managing existing and developing new customers within the assigned territory, providing agronomic expertise to support proper product selection and use, and maintaining profitable customer relationships. This role also requires strong agronomy knowledge and proficiency in PCA responsibilities, including writing pesticide recommendations and fertilizer prescriptions based on crop needs and analyzed data. The Sales Agronomist II contributes to annual business planning, territory budgeting, and sales forecasting to optimize growth and profitability.

Requirements

  • 3 + year s of experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Willingness to travel throughout territory and to periodic sales meetings
  • Knowledge of herbicides and fertilizers (dry and liquid)
  • Developing a working knowledge of local agricultural crops and market practices
  • Proficient with computers utilizing Microsoft Office and Windows applications
  • Agronomy/Agribusiness degree

Responsibilities

  • Manage existing and attract new customers within sales territory
  • Assist customers with proper product selection and use based on agronomic needs
  • Maintain and develop profitable customer relationships
  • Identify new key customers, understand their business, determine their needs , and support team to on achieving sales territory goals and growth
  • Assist with territory budgeting, forecasting , and analysis
  • Follow credit policies and manage risk for the company
  • Coordinate annual business plan that optimizes growth and profitability for the territory , and gain manager’s approval
  • Implement marketing and sales plans; meet sales goals; and network with industry representatives to expand sales opportunities
  • Be the primary customer contact regarding deliveries, forecasting, credit, complaint handling, and custom applications , bringing issues to the attention of management
