Tech Support Associate

About The Position

Pacific Science Center’s mission is to ignite curiosity in every child and fuel a passion for discovery, experimentation, and critical thinking in all of us. We are seeking a tech-savvy, approachable problem-solver to join our IT team in a part-time role (approximately 20 hours per week). As a Tech Support Associate, you will provide basic technical support for computer systems, hardware, and software while assisting the IT team with day-to-day operations.

Requirements

Basic familiarity with computers and common software applications.
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical users.
Be customer service-oriented and approachable.
Work independently and manage time effectively.

Some past IT-related schooling or experience required (e.g., coursework or training in areas such as cybersecurity, network administration, or helpdesk).
High school diploma or equivalent.
Availability for part-time or flexible schedule.

Interest in Technology or prior experience in a support role & willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

Serve as a first point of contact for basic technical assistance with hardware, software, and phones.
Assist with managing and troubleshooting our internal network
Assist with installing and configuring hardware and software components.
Help troubleshoot devices and systems under guidance.
Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
Support onboarding tasks such as preparing equipment and assisting with account setup.
Other duties assigned to support IT operations.
