About The Position

The Tech-OEM role focuses on providing on-site, in-transit repair solutions for vehicles in the finished vehicle supply chain, primarily at manufacturing plants, transit sites, auctions, dealerships, and distribution centers. As a Tech-OEM, you will perform specialized, technology-driven repairs to minimize downtime and ensure vehicles meet OEM standards before delivery.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as an automotive technician, with specific expertise in key programming, wheel repair, battery systems, or light mechanical work (OEM certification a plus).
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, estimating software (e.g., CCC, Audatex, Mitchell), and mobile repair equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record; ability to travel regionally (up to 50% time).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in variable weather conditions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and customer service orientation for interacting with OEM and dealer personnel.
  • Detail-oriented and skilled in working with precision.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work in well-ventilated automotive repair shops, refurbishing facilities, or outdoor paint booth facilities
  • Must be fit tested (must be clean shaven) and wear a respirator
  • Ability to frequently reach overhead, kneel, bend and squat, as well as lift up to 45 pounds
  • Must be able to bend, twist, and reach in various positions to perform job duties
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals; requires wearing protective gear such as gloves, goggles, and masks.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-transit repairs on new vehicles, including key programming and replacement, battery and wheel and tire replacements
  • Travel to client sites, managing a mobile toolkit and company vehicle to provide on-site repairs of vehicles on a mobile basis.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving vehicle technologies, such as advanced key systems and electric vehicle components.
  • Follow safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Proper use of the Workday system to clock in and out during assigned shift
  • Working within assigned business hours. Approval required for any hours worked outside of business hours.
  • Responding to internal requests or questions within the same business day
  • Using Smartsheet in the instructed manner to process, correctly document per customer requirements and complete claims
  • Referring to Process Documents, or seeking management assistance for any situations or repairs that are unclear.
  • Maintaining equipment including: Battery recharge and testing equipment; tire changing equipment (jack stands, tools, jack(s); company vehicle, including scheduled maintenance; software and firmware updates for programming equipment
  • Notifying management of any repair issues with company vehicles or equipment.
  • Notifying management immediately if a company vehicle is involved in an accident or otherwise damaged.
  • Maintaining open lines of communication with management regarding daily tasks and scheduling
  • Other Duties as Assigned
