About The Position

You will lead our Frontend & Backend platform team to build & deliver the foundation of Thrive’s products. You will partner closely with engineering leadership, your fellow technical leaders and other stakeholders to deliver on the goal of designing, building, and innovating our libraries, tools and systems that enable Thrive’s product teams to deliver a world class product. You will be responsible for coaching and mentoring the engineers on the team: their success will be your success! We need a kind and caring team player who takes responsibility for organizational outcomes and is ready to collaborate with Business, Product, and Technology partners. Requirements

  • Production development experience in React, Webpack, TypeScript
  • Several years experience leading & growing engineering teams, preferably in a startup environment
  • Passion for working and leading people & technology, inspiring them to perform at their best.
  • 5 or more years of software engineering experience
  • Experience building, running, and debugging scalable and reliable microservice-based applications
  • Strong understanding of systems design and its impact on application architecture

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team building our libraries & services that enable our product teams to succeed
  • Cultivating a high performing team, delivering technical feedback and excitement for a small, autonomous team of engineers. In this role you will be managing people and be directly responsible for their success!
  • Take responsibility for planning, execution and success of complex projects
  • Take part in technical & peer reviews, collaborative design sessions, production issue troubleshooting, business requirement gathering and other organizational processes.
  • Partnering with engineering leadership, product, design, and data peers to create the team’s technical roadmap and be the voice of engineering as a part of the team’s leadership
  • Working with external partners and deep-diving into the integration platform to bring the best Thrive experience to users
  • Working closely with product teams to enhance how they own, operate (build, deploy, monitor) and troubleshoot production software systems
  • Helping develop and streamline our operational and engineering support systems and workflows
