About The Position

Responsible to install, maintain, and repair, Boiler/Chiller equipment. Cooling tower maintenance, HVAC preventive maintenance, maintaining low pressure steam system, pumps, plumbing and other duties involved with building maintenance including snow removal and weather-related incidents. Web control and Johnson controls programs.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Current Refrigeration Transition and Recovery Universal Certification
  • Valid Driver's license'
  • Two (2) to five (5) years' experience in the Industrial mechanical, electrical and plumbing trades.
  • Ability to repair and replace pumps, motors, and HVAC equipment.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years' in demonstrating the ability to troubleshoot and identify the correct and most cost-effective solutions.
  • Two (2) to five years (5) experience Interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with all levels within the organization.
  • Work with Excel & Microsoft programs
  • Minimum basic end user of a keyboard, capable of data entry/ inputting information in the electronic time management system.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational or technical school in heating, ventilating, air conditioning strongly, preferred.
  • Chiller and low-pressure Steam experience Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair residential and commercial plumbing and HVAC equipment consistent with plumbing and electrical codes.
  • Perform routine maintenance on Boilers, Chillers, and Cooling Towers.
  • Strong knowledge of BAS/EMS (building automation systems/Energy Management systems) preferred. Note: Unity's current system: Metasys/Automated Logic.
  • Ownership of Preventive Maintenance program associated within assigned area.
  • Prioritize and meet all work order requests in a timely and effective manner.
  • Recognize and report hazardous conditions requiring immediate action.
  • Coordinate assigned work orders with other departments, on ground residents, guests and employees.
  • Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate self-motivation.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures including all safety guidelines, including compliance with regulations regarding the handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • After hours/weekends and on-call rotation responsibilities to meet the demands of Maintenance department.
  • Utilize electronic time management system to input time and attendance for self.
  • Work with minimal supervision and demonstrate self-motivation.
  • Provide assistance with other maintenance personnel as needed for the completion of work orders.
  • Demonstrate customers service skills with each department interaction and work order requests.
  • Assist in Campus snow removal, as required.
  • In conjunction with the Supervisor and Director, estimate and give recommendations on all building systems for repair costs and projects.
  • Self-starter, motivated, and ability to work and function with little supervision at times.
