Reporting directly to the Chief Accounting Officer, the role of Technical Accounting Senior Manager involves preparing accounting memos on complex transactions, overseeing new accounting pronouncements, presenting prescribed accounting treatments to management and external auditors, creating and maintaining global accounting policies and reviewing non-standard contracts. The ideal candidate is a CPA with at least 6 years of experience, including 3 years in public accounting, and has a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP financial reporting requirements, as well as excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Requirements

  • 6-10 years of progressive public accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting + an active CPA license
  • Must have a strong knowledge of US GAAP requirements, with comprehensive knowledge and experience with revenue recognition, lease and credit loss accounting concepts and guidance
  • Must have shown the ability to perform independent accounting research and the subsequent framing and documentation of accounting issues along with the related conclusions
  • Strong sense of integrity, responsibility and accountability
  • Is deadline-focused with the ability to understand how the details impact the overall reporting
  • Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills and
  • Must bring a hands-on style, customer service mind-set and the ability to prioritize and deliver results in a fast-moving company with a wide variety of strategic initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, including revenue recognition, discontinued operations, debt modifications, stock compensation, mergers and acquisitions, and other significant or unusual transactions
  • Prepare and maintain technical accounting memos and documentation to support accounting conclusions
  • Create, document and implement accounting policies for global accounting organization
  • Consulting with product, legal, sales, etc. teams over revenue treatment for new or non-standard agreements
  • Assist with mergers and acquisitions including due diligence, purchase price accounting and integration
  • Act as a subject matter expert in accounting policy and procedures, ensuring compliance across the organization, including consolidated subsidiaries
  • Draft the preparation and filing of financial statement footnotes
  • Implement formal monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting process
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of US GAAP financials, ensuring compliance with requirements
  • Coordinate with external auditors, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate recognition of complex accounting matters
  • Monitor and assess new accounting standards and implement changes to as required
