About The Position

This role, Tech 2 Tool Crib Operations Facilities Maintenance, provides support to mechanics by searching for spare parts and is responsible for managing maintenance spare parts and equipment inventory. Key duties include receiving purchased spare parts and equipment, verifying quantities, cost, and part numbers, and creating purchase requisitions via SAP or Buy Smart. All activities must comply with company personnel safety, quality systems, and 5s methodology. BD emphasizes on-site collaboration to foster creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, requiring a minimum of 4 days of in-office presence per week for most roles.

Requirements

  • Experience in tool cribs
  • GED or High School Diploma
  • General knowledge of the proper use of parts manuals and supply catalogs
  • ERP Systems experience such as SAP, ORACLE, JD Eduards, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Access)
  • Principles and practices of inventory management/control and work safety
  • Basic mathematics.
  • Excellent verbal & telephone skills.
  • Maintain accurate & organized records.
  • Good communication skills, oral and written at different levels.
  • Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stopping, climbing stairs, twisting and bending frequently (more than 4 hours of each activity).
  • Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instruction and visually inspect parts
  • Able to lift and push 50 lbs safely.
  • Employment is contingent upon the Company’s receipt of sufficient proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (for certain roles at BD).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain spare parts room following 5s methodology and inventory control accuracy
  • Meet requirements of issues and deliveries of spare parts & equipment on time
  • Plan requirements and create purchase requisitions of spare parts and/or equipment.
  • Keep control of open orders by receiving the spare parts & equipment on time.
  • Stocking of spare parts & equipment to designated locations.
  • File all the receiving documents.
  • Get the control cycles requested; Verifies physical stock count against computer generated inventory reports.
  • Retrieve and distribute parts to maintenance personnel.
  • Follow up on any other additional activity requested.
  • Complies and enforces Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Orders parts from contracted vendors that are not in stock but are required immediately for a mechanical repair.
  • Verifies physical stock count against computer generated inventory reports
