About The Position

The Team Leader shall maintain responsibility for the production needs and activities involved in producing high-quality sheet metal parts and products.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • EPA certification
  • Exemplary attendance record.
  • Significant leadership skills and experience.
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Skills as a negotiator and problem solver.
  • No prior disciplinary action for the past (6) months.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to train Team Members to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Single Point Lessons (SPL’s).
  • Ability to quickly learn and operate all positions of which are under your supervision.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with other Team Leads and Supervisors when you need assistance.
  • Ability to successfully navigate Team Member conflicts when they arise.
  • Continuously seeking opportunities for improvement within current processes.
  • Maintaining and improving current 5S standards.
  • Assisting the Supervisor with any directives they deem necessary with controlling workflow to meet deadlines and daily production paperwork
  • Assist the supervisor in ensuring that all Team Members perform their duties safely and in compliance with all rules and regulations
  • Provide coverage and support to other areas outside of your jurisdiction as required.
  • Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in your respective trade area:
  • This usually only applies to the Electrical, Testing or Refrigeration Department
  • Must have EPA Certification for the Refrigeration Department
  • Gain knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation as well as plant safety rules to perform duties safely and in compliance with all KCC rules and regulations.
  • Participate and/or lead toolbox talks & monthly training.
  • Take every reasonable precaution for the protection of your coworkers.
  • Take immediate action to address unsafe acts or conditions and report issues to management.
  • Assist in accident investigations (as needed) to identify the root cause in a timely manner.
  • Complete accident and incident reports (near miss) in a timely manner.
