It might be the best decision you make this year. The Team Leader leads and maintains the residential milieu. This is a responsible leader position. The unique job functions outlined are designed with a focus on safety and quality. Assists in the implementation and follow through of the treatment plans. Assures that treatment plan protocol is adhered to especially as it relates to special treatment procedures. Attend and oversees the shift processing meetings. Oversees the day to day operation of the unit as it relates to staff. Reports unusual situations which may occur on the unit to the Residential Manager, Program Directors and/or Executive Director. Assures that the unit is clean and orderly and that all waste is disposed of properly. Leads staff and resident activities on and off the unit Leads the accurate documentation of incident reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or 5 years minimum experience in behavioral healthcare.
  • Must demonstrate leadership abilities.
  • Demonstrates ability to establish credibility and be decisive.
  • Demonstrates ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, management, referral source, and the general public.
  • Demonstrates satisfactory communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of children and adolescent developmental issues.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and insists upon the rights of children and adolescents as residents in this facility.
  • Must have proven ability to relate to and work with children and/or adolescents.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors performance of staff supervised and responsible for the administration of their duties.
  • Provides prompt and objective coaching and counseling.
  • Assures timely performance appraisals of staff supervised.
  • Oversees the duties and essential functions of the Team Leaders.
  • Performs other related tasks as may be assigned.
  • Participates in staff development and in-service training activities to increase his/her job knowledge.
  • Assists in the maintenance of time records as it relates to the manpower budget.
  • Assists in the hiring process of Residential Counselors I, II and III.
  • Responsibility for accurately and timely supervision of time and attendance, which includes serving as attendance officer.
  • Ensuring leave slips are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring of time punches, including early/late punches breaks or inappropriate punches.
  • May be required to administer prescription and/or over the counter medications.
  • Responsible for being on-call except when on vacation.
  • Will also be responsible for maintaining coverage
