About The Position

As a Team Leader at Weaver Popcorn Manufacturing, you’ll provide hands-on leadership for a production line while setting the standard for safety, quality, performance, and teamwork. This role is ideal for a strong floor leader who can make sound decisions, communicate clearly, and lead by example while living out the Weaver Culture every day.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a safety-first environment
  • Lead by example in enforcing safety policies, SOPs, and safe work practices
  • Proactively identify hazards, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain a clean, organized production area throughout the shift
  • Ensure sanitation standards are met and verified at shift close
  • Hold the team accountable for safety expectations and escalate unresolved concerns to EH&S leadership to support zero OSHA recordables
  • Protect product integrity and our brand
  • Ensure GMPs, food safety, and sanitation requirements are followed at all times
  • Verify sanitation completion and startup documentation prior to production
  • Respond to quality events through Safety Chain, leading investigations and corrective actions
  • Perform routine line checks and confirm documentation accuracy
  • Support monthly quality training to strengthen team awareness and compliance
  • Keep the lines running strong
  • Plan ahead for staffing, materials, and equipment readiness
  • Monitor OEE, downtime, scrap, and performance trends to drive real-time improvements
  • Ensure accurate downtime tracking in LEDS and completion of End-of-Shift reports
  • Clearly document issues, root causes, and corrective actions
  • Build capability, engagement, and accountability
  • Supervise and coach team members and Line Leads through feedback, recognition, and performance management
  • Lead effective pre-shift meetings focused on safety, quality, production goals, and alignment
  • Encourage cross-training and skill development
  • Track attendance, support disciplinary processes, and foster engagement consistent with Weaver values
  • Work cross-functionally to drive results
  • Partner with Maintenance, Sanitation, and Quality teams to resolve issues quickly and effectively
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement efforts, WME initiatives, and improvement projects
  • Communicate across shifts to ensure smooth transitions and consistent execution
  • Use data to guide decisions
  • Utilize AS400 for scheduling, inventory, BOMs, scrap reporting, and reconciliation
  • Create clear downtime reports outlining issues, actions taken, and ownership
  • Use Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, LEDS, Safety Chain, and Windows-based systems for daily communication and reporting
  • Serve as backup to the Department Manager as needed
  • Support conflict resolution to maintain a positive and accountable work environment
  • Apply basic problem-solving tools and monitor line-level losses (scrap, downtime, waste)
  • Maintain and update skill matrices
