Requirements

  • 3-5 years of demonstrated leadership traits/experience in a manufacturing/assembly environment preferred.
  • Self-starter, requiring minimal supervision and direction.
  • Knowledge/background in manufacturing concepts such as Lean, Kaizen, 6S, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Material Pulls, or ISO 9000 preferred.
  • Be computer literate with emphasis on Oracle and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work with general manufacturing hand tools, computers, and electronics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot product and processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional employees to help drive improvements in business performance.
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment where leading through influence is key for success.
  • Possess a sense of urgency when production issues occur to support cell members.
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended period.
  • Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, twist, bend and move about the cells and facility.

Responsibilities

  • Product assembly approximately 75%-85% of time.
  • Work with first shift Production Supervisors and Product Planners to set and prioritize the production schedule for the week/day.
  • Document Production counts daily.
  • Participate in daily Tier 1 (Tier 2 meetings as needed).
  • Assist production personnel in identifying and documenting Point Kaizen opportunities.
  • Drive 5S initiatives.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering in identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate and document training for the team.
  • Help develop team members and maintain cross-training matrix.
  • Quickly communicate and escalate issues that may impact production.
  • Recommend solutions.
  • Notify essential department/personnel when production issues arise, and aid in troubleshooting and resolving these issues.
  • Work with Supply Chain and assure material availability in assigned Value Streams
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to reduce scrap.
  • Work with Quality Department to document corrective action requests and implement solutions to eliminate quality related errors.
  • Assist in RCCA.
  • Versed in safety compliance and protocols.
  • Desired to be trained in first aid, CPR, AED usage, and fire safety.
  • All other activities identified by Operations Leadership in support of Value Stream goals and objectives.
