Job Purpose: The primary purpose of the Team Leader – Cardiology position is to perform all the behaviors of the CVT Technologist and support staff. In addition, the Team Leader supervises, directs and evaluates the activities of personnel. This individual plan, coordinates and maintains the QA/KVI program for their assigned area(s) of responsibility as well as supervising and performing quality control testing of equipment and accessories used in the Department. The Team Leader is responsible for patient safety, throughput, cost control and patient satisfaction. Supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Methodist Health System. Department Specific Competencies (Clinical Only) Physical Demands and Work Environment Job Roles TEAM LEADER CARDIOLOGY 10442-1318 Proficiency Level Assumes the duties of a Technologist Coordinates all activities of assigned area and its personnel, including but limited to patient throughput, patient safety, patient/physician satisfaction and coordination of care within the various Radiology departments. Responsible to ensure full staffing coverage by competent personnel during the operating hours of the department. Infection Control Practices and Occupational Safety: Wears hospital issued ID badge in accordance with MHS policy, follows intradepartmental guidelines and abides by all MHS policies. Operates equipment and performs job-related duties in a safe manner at all times. Maintains interdepartmental, as well as intradepartmental communications. Meets scheduled deadlines for gathering, reporting and posting information for the modality. Meets with the Administrative & Medical Director to develop and implement new programs within the department and to discuss the effect these programs will have on other areas of the hospital. Provide optimum customer service, cordially greets customers and assists patient to procedure destination and coordinates transportation of outpatients and inpatients. Responsible for the development of the annual departmental budget, maintaining cost containment efforts and revenue generating measures. Responsible for the development, communication and implementation of hospital policies / guidelines within the department. Responsible to ensure that all interviewing, selection, orientation, evaluation, promotions, and termination of departmental Personnel fall within the guidelines of hospital policies and the guidelines established by governmental licensing and regulatory agencies. Responsible to ensure that appropriate equipment and supplies are available for the employees to carry out the functions of the department. Other duties as assigned.
