The Team Leader Logistics reports to the Director Logistics, Southeast and is responsible for managing the daily operations of the parts department at an assigned location. This includes inventory control, purchasing, shipping and receiving, and internal/external customer support. The role ensures timely and accurate processing of parts and materials to support maintenance, sales, and other departments while maintaining compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Ideal candidate has minimum 5 years of experience in parts, logistics, or related operations; aviation experience preferred.
  • 3 years of supervisory or proven leadership experience required.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification recommended; Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Corridor, Quantum, TotalFBO) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of inventory control practices and shipping/receiving operations.
  • Hazmat handling experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all logistics and parts operations at the assigned location.
  • Maintain accurate inventory control and establish stock levels to support operational needs.
  • Manage purchasing activities, including timely issuance of purchase orders and follow-up on outstanding items.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving duties as needed to ensure timely processing.
  • Lead, mentor, and train parts personnel; assign duties and monitor performance.
  • Participate in scheduled performance reviews for parts staff.
  • Source parts from alternate vendors when factory availability is limited.
  • Manage internal and external parts sales, including OTC transactions and used parts/avionics (consignment or trade-in).
  • Provide accurate pricing for parts quotes and invoices; ensure invoice accuracy and forward to accounting.
  • Coordinate, expedite, and track critical components to support maintenance operations.
  • Supply part status updates during daily maintenance meetings.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and customers to ensure excellent service and pricing integrity.
  • Monitor and report local performance metrics (inventory accuracy, order turnaround, fulfillment timelines).
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, Repair Station Manual, and company maintenance procedures.
  • Promote company policies and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
