This is a terrific opportunity to join the Caterpillar North Little Rock, AR team as an Team Lead on our 2nd shift team earning day ONE benefits and a starting wage of $25.00/hour. This position works under general supervision to assemble/test parts, components, or systems for wheel loaders and motor graders according to the specified work orders. This position is for the assembly line at the North Little Rock, AR site. As a Team Lead at Caterpillar, you will work in an environment that supports excellence. You will lead your team in efforts to support continuous improvement. This position works under general supervision, coordinates, oversees and monitors activities within a specific factory function in Assembly. This person will report to a Section Manger. Knowledge of assembly procedures, standard work schedules, quality requirements and build requirements in assigned work area. Uses various tools provided in the work area to perform assembly duties and may include the use of lifting devices to move heavy components of weights of more than 35 lbs. Perform other related work duties as assigned. Follows and utilizes CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, Standard Work and Built in Quality. Keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition. Must meet deadlines. Ability to multitask and prioritize work. Contributing team member. Train new and develop existing employees. Liaison between team members and section managers. First point of contact for questions related to employee job functions. Performance of administrative functions and may be accountable for daily team PQVC metric boards. May provide input on schedule/build adjustments May communicate with cross-functional leaders. Relies on independent decision-making and problem solving to complete job tasks. Communicate potential build schedule, inventory or manpower issues and solutions to section manager.

Requirements

  • Resume Required
  • Must have an “Expected” or greater level of performance
  • Previous experience in machine assembly experience
  • Experience working with lean manufacturing principles such as following standard work, continuous improvement, eliminating waste, 5S and BIQ
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive operations
  • Ability to live up to 35 lbs.
  • All eligible candidates MUST pass the following pre-employment screenings before they can be hired to Caterpillar: Background Screening Drug Screening Post-Offer Medical Questionnaire (clearance from Corporate Medical)

  • Further vocational and/or college education
  • Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
