About The Position

The Team Lead is responsible for assisting management in overseeing all plant functions related to material processing, shipping, and receiving. In addition, the Team Lead assists the maintenance employees as needed. In the absence of management, this position is responsible for overseeing all plant operations in accordance with established company policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
  • Liquid Propane (LP) and electric Forklift experience/certification, or ability to become certified (required)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook) and other computer software/systems (required)
  • Ability to work well in group situations, problem-solve, and demonstrate emotional intelligence when dealing with challenging topics, and remain open to others' ideas
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to ensure deadlines, daily tasks, and projects are completed on time
  • Ability to work overtime as required; flexibility to work different shifts as required
  • Ability to work well under pressure and respond to employees with respect and consideration in a loud, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to be licensed to operate mobile equipment, including Liquid Propane (LP) and electric Forklifts
  • Ability to display passion and optimism and inspire respect and trust amongst employees

Nice To Haves

  • Prior knowledge of the production line and recycling (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the processing of all materials in production positions
  • Ensure that all areas of operation are performed in accordance with established company policies, ISO procedures, and standards
  • Report on all serious personnel issues to the Production Supervisor or designee
  • Communicate and record accurate accounts in the Daily Teams Log
  • Train new employees; must be able to train others while performing the essential duties of this job
  • Provide support during vacations, time off, etc.; Must be flexible to work different shifts as required
  • Maintain a safe work environment by overseeing employees to make certain MIOSHA, safety rules and regulations, and company safety policy are followed
  • Must be able to work well in group problem-solving situations, demonstrate emotional intelligence when dealing with emotional topics, and remain open to others' ideas
  • Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to ensure deadlines, daily tasks, and projects are completed on time

  • Must be able to handle stressful situations.
  • Must be able to interact with individuals in person, on a regular and ongoing basis, both coworkers and customers/public.
  • Conduct daily Toolbox Talks
  • Maintain safety and leadership training above and beyond Schupan's standard ISO training
  • Act as backup to scale house operator.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
