About The Position

We are searching for an individual to lead the technical support team located in Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will lead a team of software support technicians in providing efficient technical support and solutions for Aurora Vehicle Operations. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and tracking all issues the autonomous vehicle fleet encounters while in the field. This role is critical in ensuring that the Vehicle Reliability Engineering (VRE) team operates efficiently and resolves operational issues effectively. This role is an onsite position, working Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Information Technology, Computer Science, etc)
  • 5+ years of experience working with Linux in an administrative or troubleshooting capacity.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
  • Strong technical knowledge of issue tracking systems
  • Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to handle complex issue escalations
  • Experience working with various complex hardware and software systems including lidar, radar, cameras, and computers
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across different teams, offices, and time zones

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of ITIL or other service management frameworks
  • Previous programming experience in Python, Go or C++
  • Previous automotive or AV technical experience
  • Deep understanding of computer networking systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and manage a team of software technicians
  • Oversee daily troubleshooting operations, including scheduling and performance monitoring
  • Ensure timely and accurate resolution of fleet issues and escalations
  • Develop and implement support process and workflow improvements partnering with operations, product and engineering teams
  • Provide technical support to vehicles that encounter software or hardware issues.
  • Troubleshoot and perform general root cause analysis on complex software and hardware issue escalations
  • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance and deepen team skills.
