About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Foundation Development Officer to join our Deaconess Foundation team. This role is integral to building and maintaining philanthropic relationships with donors and prospects, ensuring long-term engagement and fostering support for our mission. As a Foundation Development Officer, you will manage a portfolio of donors, collaborate with local leadership, and contribute to the achievement of the foundation's revenue goals through effective relationship-building and strategic fundraising efforts. As a Foundation Development Officer, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to identify and nurture relationships with new and existing donors. You will manage a portfolio of active donors, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and represent the Deaconess Foundation in the community to foster long-term philanthropic support. This role plays a critical part in meeting the foundation's fundraising objectives and supporting local Deaconess events and initiatives.

Requirements

  • College degree from an accredited college or university - Required
  • 3-5 years of foundation or fundraising experience - Required
  • Proven ability to manage donor portfolios and build long-term relationships - Required
  • Strong understanding of fundraising strategies, KPIs, and donor engagement techniques - Required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with community organizations, hospitals, and local leadership - Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Donor Relationship Management: Manage a portfolio of at least 60 active donors, developing strong relationships and engagement strategies to increase giving and donor retention.
  • Community Engagement: Represent the Deaconess Foundation in local communities by attending events and building strong relationships with local physicians, community leaders, and organizations.
  • Collaboration with Leadership: Work closely with Deaconess regional/local leadership to align fundraising efforts and increase visibility and support for the foundation.
  • KPI Tracking and Reporting: Track, report, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure fundraising success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Event and Engagement Support: Support local Deaconess events and engagement strategies to raise awareness and encourage community participation in philanthropic activities.
  • Annual Giving Coordination: Coordinate the Annual Employee Giving program at each location to engage employees in the foundation's mission.
  • New Donor Development: Build a specific number of new donors each year as directed by the Executive Director.
  • Fundraising Collaboration: Work closely with hospitals such as Gateway, Midtown, The Women's Hospital, and Cross Pointe to support fundraising efforts and initiatives.
  • Team Leadership: Manage the Deaconess Gibson Foundation Officer and provide guidance and support to ensure effective fundraising strategies.
