About The Position

Primary Function Works with the Loss Mitigation team to minimize losses on delinquent mortgages by working according to investor guidelines to resolve at-risk mortgages. Principal Duties Perform workout approvals for multiple Loss Mitigation Teams Ensure that the appropriate entity (yourself, a client, or mortgage insurance company) has reviewed and approved a Loss Mitigation Workout Undertakes special projects related to departmental activities and performs other duties as assigned. Accurately underwrites the borrower’s income, through the review of paystubs, tax documents, benefit statements, business profit and loss statements, etc. Addresses any borrower question or concern. Handles escalated files appropriately by providing an articulate and complete response. Contributes to the progress of the department by understanding the measurements used to define success and how they can positively impact those measurements. Performs live and recorded call monitoring and provides immediate feedback as needed. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures. Ability to effectively and accurately convey information to others. Performs related duties as assigned by management. Education and Experience Requirements High School Diploma required; college degree preferred but not required. 6+ years of Loss Mitigation, collections, or related mortgage servicing experience Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Excellence in consulting and advising customers via telephone and written communication. Experience analyzing financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, home appraisals, title searches and other documents to evaluate pre-foreclosure remedies. Demonstrated strong skill set for organization and attention to detail. Strong negotiating and follow-up skills, as well as the ability to meet strict deadlines. Excellence in consulting and advising customers via telephone and written communication. Self-Motivated. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong analytical, problem solving and mathematical skills to be used to improve team’s performance. Ability to work overtime as needed. Understanding of mortgage lending and servicing Work Environment and Physical Requirements Working on-site at assigned office location. Regular and punctual attendance adhering to schedule established by leadership. Flexibility to work occasional adjusted work schedules, overtime, and evening and/or weekend hours to meet deadlines or as business needs demand. Working in a cubicle hub, maintaining focus on phone calls in a noisy environment within earshot of multiple other conversations. Sedentary work in a stationary position at a cubicle for prolonged periods of time. Constant repetitive motions required for operating a computer, such as typing and managing phone calls. Constantly communicating effectively verbally in English, including accurately exchanging information with others following identification of correct procedures.
