About The Position

The Team Lead – Electrical Assembly/Run Room is responsible for leading daily operations of the run room team while ensuring work is performed safely, consistently, and to defined standards. This role places a strong emphasis on training, SOP adherence, and standard work, building team capability while driving quality, productivity, and on-time delivery. The Team Lead is a working leader who coaches employees, reinforces expectations, and serves as the first point of escalation for technical, quality, and process issues.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical assembly
  • Prior experience leading or training others (formal or informal leadership)
  • Strong understanding of electrical assembly practices, wiring, schematics, and tools
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, SOPs, and work instructions
  • Strong coaching, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail with a focus on consistency and quality
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced production environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support day-to-day run room operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals
  • Assign work, balance workloads, and monitor progress to ensure production targets are met
  • Serve as the go-to resource for electrical assembly questions, troubleshooting, and problem solving
  • Model proper workmanship, safety practices, and professionalism on the floor
  • Train new hires and existing employees on electrical assembly tasks, tools, and safety requirements
  • Executes on-the-job training plans and skills matrices
  • Verify competency through observation, sign-offs, and retraining as needed
  • Cross-train team members to improve flexibility, coverage, and throughput
  • Identify skill gaps and partner with leadership to address training needs
  • Ensure all electrical assembly work is performed in accordance with SOPs, work instructions, and engineering documentation
  • Actively reinforce standard work and correct deviations in real time
  • Participate in the creation, revision, and improvement of SOPs and visual work instructions
  • Ensure SOPs are current, accessible, and clearly understood by the team
  • Support audits, quality checks, and compliance to documented processes
  • Own quality outcomes for the electrical assembly area, including first-time-right performance and rework reduction
  • Identify root causes of defects, training gaps, or process breakdowns and help implement corrective actions
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices and proper tool usage
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to training, documentation, and workflow efficiency
  • Communicate priorities, expectations, and changes clearly to the team
  • Escalate issues related to safety, quality, staffing, or materials in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with engineering, quality, materials, and other production areas to resolve issues
