Caterpillar currently has an opening for Team Lead position supporting Reman Drivetrain located in the West Fargo, ND facility. Team Lead supports a team (generally five to ten) as a working team member of the team, filling in for absent team leads or team members and assisting to ensure PQVC metrics are met. Responds to safety issues, Andon signals and identifies quality, staffing and production issues and brings them to the attention of the Section Manager. Compensation & Benefits Offered! Hourly Pay Range: $29.19 - $37.15 (salary negotiations to be offered based on skills/experience) 2nd shift will receive an additional 7% night shift premium. 2nd Shift Work Hours: 4:15PM - 2:45AM Monday - Thursday with occasional overtime on Fridays 80 hours of vacation with an additional 24 hours of paid Personal Time Off (PTO) 10 Paid holidays 100% 401k match up to 6% offered on day 1 of employment Health, dental, vision, & life insurance offered on day 1 of employment Potential annual performance increase Clean/safe work environment Paid holiday shut down at the end of the year (dependent upon business needs)

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-year job related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure training for new Team Members with on-the-job training
  • Fills in for other Team Members as required (trained and capable of running all operations in the assigned area at a minimum
  • Mentor employees and provide input for employee reviews
  • Owns metrics for the area and is held accountable for each operation’s metric accuracy and timeliness of the reporting
  • Collects data and updates metric boards as needed
  • Participates in PID process at the cell level
  • Partners with Section Manager in implementation of changes needed to achieve future state value stream map
  • Acts as the Section Manager in their absence
  • Generates and implements continuous improvement ideas for all ideas related to their assigned area
  • Perform Safety Stop Audits and report outs as required
  • Any duties or tasks that may be assigned to promote cross training or support for various areas of the shop
  • Assists in creating, improving and auditing standard work for accuracy.
  • Responds to customer feedback, assists in RCCA’s and passes customer feedback information throughout the organization.
  • Drives the stop-to-fix policy, ensuring that it is followed as a means of delaying workstation activities for safety, quality, or material related issue.
  • Ensures support group involvement in stop-to-fix initiatives and response time is meeting the CPS required level.
  • Initiates and conducts PID’s at all levels and at the targeted intervals, including appropriate manufacturing and supply chain support organizations and using cell board PQVC data.
  • Drives the CI process, including ideas generated and closure rate metrics, and ensures proper escalation when necessary.
  • Supports 5S activities and audits 5S performance.
  • Drives the cell boards and ensures that they are updated in compliance with the CPS standards and are used as the basis for PID’s.
  • Collects data and updates metric boards, monitoring PQVC performance at the cell level and delivers accurate and timely information to the Section Manager.
