About The Position

The Piasecki Aircraft Corporation Team Leader, Aircraft Production & Maintenance, is responsible for leading and overseeing all maintenance, repair, and airworthiness of aircraft or components in the production/repair environment, ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and NAVAIR regulations and quality standards. This will include managing production schedules, testing schedules and operations, maintenance records, staffing, tooling, and safety protocols. This role requires leading a team of managers and technicians to maintain the highest standards of airworthiness and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of FAA and NAVAIR processes and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of FAA Part 21 and Part 145 requirements and AS9100 quality systems.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing aircraft technicians teams and coordinating activities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and technical expertise in aircraft production and maintenance.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in an aviation overhaul and repair business or aviation manufacturing environment; and/or
  • Current and valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license with a clean compliance history and a minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in an aviation overhaul and repair business or aviation manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the production and maintenance department, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the production of prototype aircraft, modifications, maintenance and repair of aircraft to ensure airworthiness and compliance with FAA and NAVAIR regulations.
  • Manage conformity inspections, product airworthiness, and supplier quality.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive production procedures, maintenance programs, policies, and procedures to optimize efficiency, safety, and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA Part 21 and Part 145 requirements and maintain AS9100 quality system standards.
  • Directly manage and support a team of production and maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate and oversee aircraft testing procedures in alignment with FAA and NAVAIR standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of maintenance activities.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of production and maintenance activities, ensuring documentation meets regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to aircraft maintenance and repair.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, technological advancements, and regulatory changes affecting aircraft production, maintenance and repair.
  • Lead initiatives to improve production and maintenance processes and reduce operational costs while maintaining high safety standards.
