About Team Kentucky Internship Program The Team Kentucky Internship Program brings talented and motivated college students into the world of public service. The program provides meaningful and relevant work experience, professional development activities, and offers interns networking opportunities with other interns across the Commonwealth, all while working alongside program and field professionals, state government leaders. The Team Kentucky Internship Program is a prestigious and competitive program; therefore, interested applicants must complete an online application and be vetted through an interview process. Those selected for the program will perform valuable work in our state agencies. To be considered for a position in the Team Kentucky Internship Program, applicant must: Be enrolled at an accredited Kentucky post-secondary school or other educational institution approved by the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet. Be in good standing with the school with at least a 2.5 grade point average at hire. Graduating high school seniors enrolled in college courses with a 2.5 GPA may also qualify and apply to participate in the program. Candidates must be 18 years of age by May 15, 2026. Interested applicants must upload their unofficial transcript when applying to TKIP positions. Requirements

  • Proficient computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Always maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Must be 18 years of age at the time of employment.
  • Must be enrolled on a full-time basis in high school as a graduating senior currently enrolled in college level courses OR a college-level student enrolled at an accredited Kentucky post-secondary school or other educational institutions approved by the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet.
  • Applicants must furnish proof of enrollment in such a program to the Personnel Cabinet.
  • Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
  • Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of a mentor, assist with beginning level case management services to assigned probated, committed, or sentenced juveniles and their families.
  • Under the supervision of a mentor, assist in conducting risks and needs assessment for the purpose of treatment planning and aftercare planning.
  • Under the supervision of a mentor, assist with entering case contacts and information in the youth's electronic file.
  • Under the supervision of a mentor, assist with completing court reports, treatment plans, aftercare plans, case and phase reviews, and other reports as part of case management services.
  • Participate in case conferences and maintains contact with youth in placement.
  • Under the supervision of a mentor, assist with providing liaison services with community agents and agencies regarding ongoing treatment efforts for juveniles.
  • Assist with referrals for services.
