About The Position

Under the supervision of the Clinic Administrator or designee, the Team Clerk II – Referral Tracking, will serve as the liaison on behalf of the patient and their family and the NEVHC Primary Care Provider (PCP) and the Specialty Care Provider to coordinate care for services outside of NEVHC.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate plus at least 1- 2 years working in a health care setting. Previous training in a similar or like position highly desirable.
  • Displays qualities of dependability and reliability, is willing to accept a variety of tasks, and is able to comprehend quickly; follows instructions accurately.
  • Must maintain or exceed competency levels as established by for referral tracking position.
  • Must demonstrate through written and/or oral testing, the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served and has knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. He or she is able to identify and categorize each patient age specific grouping of needs, such as those for infant, adolescent, adult or geriatric patients.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.), electronic health record systems, and database systems.
  • Must be willing and able to work a varied and flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of NEVHC and its patients.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the electronic health record database within three months of attending training session(s).
  • Completion of the Medical Terminology training within the first 90 days from hire date through the NEVHC online learning management system
  • Fluency in English (speaks, read and write).
  • Fluency in Spanish (speaks, translates, read and write).
  • If position is located at a School Base Clinic, employee must be willing to submit fingerprints in a manner authorized by the California Department of Justice, with no adverse findings.
  • Current California driver’s license, appropriate insurance coverage and a driving record acceptable to the NEVHC’s insurance carrier (if required to drive on the job).
