About The Position

The Texas A&M University Libraries is looking for a new Assistant-level Teaching, Learning, & Curriculum Librarian to play a key role in supporting student success through information literacy, critical thinking, and meaningful curricular partnerships. As part of the Office of Information Literacy, you will work closely with students, faculty, and instructors to deliver course‑integrated instruction, support assignment design, contribute to graduate and faculty development programming, and explore effective approaches to assessment and online learning. You will also serve as a teaching and learning specialist and collaborate with colleagues across the Libraries to strengthen instructional programs and advance the Libraries’ educational mission. Salary: $62,900.00 annually and a $3,000.00 stipend for professional development

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Library or Information Science

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program.
  • Experience with/or coursework in information literacy instruction, lesson planning, curriculum design, creating learning outcomes and learning assessment, and/or working with faculty on assignment design.
  • Professionalism, self‑awareness, and the ability to manage differing perspectives constructively.
  • Ability to work in an environment with shifting priorities.
  • Ability to take initiative and exercise independent judgment, while also being able to collaborate with others.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong written, oral, and public communication skills, including representing the Libraries in professional settings.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and support information literacy instruction through course‑integrated teaching, consultations, assessment, and online learning.
  • Serve as a point of contact for assigned colleges or schools, partnering with faculty to integrate information literacy into curricula and assignments.
  • Collaborate with library colleagues and campus partners to design, assess, and promote instructional programs, workshops, and faculty development initiatives.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the Libraries’ instruction program, policies, and curriculum integration efforts.
  • Participate in departmental and campus activities, committees, and professional development to advance student success and innovative library services.
  • Contribute to a respectful and productive work environment, while demonstrating professionalism and sound judgment.
